"Su Ci, you're going in there and sleeping with my husband tonight. If you don't, you'll never see your grandmother again!"
Outside the presidential suite of the Yunli Hotel, Su Ci froze.
The man inside was Fu Nancheng—her sister Su Xue’s husband. They had married two years ago, but Su Xue, despising him for being an illegitimate son, had taken Su Ci’s grandmother hostage and forced her to marry him in her stead.
Thankfully, Fu Nancheng had been abroad for those two years, and she had never met him.
But now he was back, and Su Xue was demanding she sleep with her husband.
At the thought of her captured grandmother, Su Ci’s fists clenched. She had no choice. "Fine."
Su Ci stepped into the presidential suite. The room was dimly lit.
A man lay on the bed, his frame tall and well-defined, his features strikingly handsome.
So this was the husband she had been standing in for these past two years? She hadn't expected him to be so young, so handsome.
Biting her lip, Su Ci crept onto the bed and straddled him.
She reached for his belt.
Her soft, pale fingers brushed against his taut waist, and she flinched.
Suddenly, a large, well-defined hand shot out, seizing her slender wrist. A sharp tug sent her tumbling onto his chest.
She caught the scent of alcohol as his hot breath fanned across her cheek, followed by a low, icy voice. "Who are you?"
The voice was deep and chilling.
Su Ci looked up and met his gaze. He had opened his eyes at some point, and his deep, narrow eyes were now fixed on her with a dark, menacing glare.
Her heart pounded. After a moment's hesitation, she silenced him with a kiss. "Shh," she whispered against his lips. "Don't ask. Just know I'm your wife."
...
The next morning.
The Yunli Hotel was on complete lockdown, with a phalanx of bodyguards in black suits standing guard outside the presidential suite.
Fu Nancheng was awake. He leaned lazily against the headboard, his long, pale fingers resting on a bent knee. A terrifying hostility radiated from him as he blinked his bloodshot, weary eyes.
He’d returned to the country last night, had a business dinner, had too much to drink, and his secretary had brought him back to his room.
The next thing he knew, he was waking up with a girl on top of him.
Who would have thought that he, Fu Nancheng, would wake up to find himself on the receiving end? Countless women had tried to climb into his bed over the years, but this was the first time one had dared to force the issue.
And then, after she was done, she’d vanished without a trace, not a single word of explanation.
Fine. The audacious woman had some sense, at least. She knew he’d tear her limb from limb if he caught her.
The great bed was a wreck, and on the white sheets, a single, dried crimson stain bloomed like a winter plum.
Fu Nancheng’s gaze lingered on the mark, his throat tightening. So audacious, yet she had been untouched.
Clean… and sweet.
"President," Secretary Song hurried in. "We've identified last night's woman!"
"Who?"
"It was your wife, sir."
"What wife?" Fu Nancheng had completely forgotten he was even married, though the memory quickly returned.
The Fu and Su families had a marriage contract. Two years ago, his grandmother had taken matters into her own hands and married him off to the Su family's daughter, Su Xue.
A car had simply delivered the woman to his residence, Yuyuan. The marriage was kept secret, so few people even knew about it.
His deep, narrow eyes narrowed to slits. So, he’d been bedded by his wife of two years the moment he returned to the country?
Fu Nancheng’s lips curled into a cold line. "Back to Yuyuan."
...
Yuyuan.
Su Ci had returned. She faced Su Xue and said, "I did what you asked."
Through the collar of her shirt, Su Xue could see the angry red marks scattered across Su Ci's pale skin—marks her husband had left. They should have been hers.
But she wasn't a virgin.
"Su Ci, you will forget what happened last night. Not a word to anyone. And listen closely: my husband, Fu Nancheng, is the head of the Fu family. Your job as my stand-in is over. It's time for me to be Mrs. Fu again!"
