When Jiang Lan woke again, she was lying in a hospital bed in the inpatient ward. An IV line was attached to the back of her hand, and the ache in her lower abdomen had dulled. She was alone in the room. Jiang Lan glanced up at the IV bag. It was nearly empty. Propping herself up, she pressed the call button beside her bed. Within two minutes, a young doctor entered.
