"Grandpa, if you're not feeling well, you really must go to the hospital for a proper check-up. The doctors can find out exactly what's wrong and help you get better faster!" Yun An'an said, her eyes curving into a gentle smile as she discreetly took Old Master Huo's pulse.
Thank goodness, it was only a mild case of poisoning. A quick trip to the hospital to have it treated, and he would be fine.
In truth, the antidote she had prepared herself would work just as well, and without any side effects. But if the Huo family found out, they wouldn't just refuse to let Old Master Huo drink it; they would likely accuse her of trying to poison him.
Being suspected was a small price to pay, but if the toxins continued to accumulate in his system, they might trigger his old ailments, and that would be far more difficult to handle.
"Alright, alright. Grandpa promises you, how's that?" Old Master Huo said with a broad smile, his mind already turning over the implications.
Only then did Yun An'an's lips curve into a genuine, relieved smile. She didn't notice Huo Sihan, standing to the side, narrow his eyes at her, a frown creasing his brow as if he'd sensed something.
After dinner, Old Master Huo decided to stay the night at the Huo residence, and Huo Sihan stayed as well, keeping his grandfather company with a game of chess.
Holding a bone china cup, Old Master Huo looked at his exceptional grandson with a sigh. "Sihan, your father's disappearance has always weighed heavily on my heart. I don't want you to follow in his footsteps. Do you understand?"
Huo Sihan’s fingers, poised over a chess piece, froze for a fraction of a second. He lowered his gaze, remaining silent for a long moment.

Yun An'an returned to her room and, after bathing, prepared for the second round of acupuncture.
Just as the seventh gold needle found its mark in the correct acupoint and she was pausing to assess its effect, the door was suddenly thrown open. Her head snapped up.
Huo Sihan strode in, his handsome face a cold mask. His eyes lifted and immediately fell upon Yun An'an, who stared back at him in stunned disbelief. His brow furrowed, but then he registered her current state.
She wore only a white bathrobe, its collar having slipped down to her waist, exposing a wide expanse of skin as pale as snow. From his angle, he could see the alluring curve of her breast, half-hidden by white lace.
Her slender waist was particularly striking, so narrow it seemed a single hand could encircle it.
Compounding the image was the sheer panic in Yun An'an’s wide eyes—a sight few men could resist.
But when Huo Sihan's gaze fell on the gold needles protruding from her skin, the flicker of desire in his sharp eyes was instantly extinguished, replaced by a surge of pure fury.
He crossed the room in three long strides and seized her wrist without a word. "You've gotten bold, Yun An'an. First you sweet-talk Grandpa into blocking our divorce, and now you're resorting to a pity play?"
Yun An'an flinched violently, her eyes meeting his, which were filled with scorn and derision. She pressed her lips together into a thin, tight line.
"So you admit it? Ha," Huo Sihan sneered, his gaze dropping to the needles on her shoulder. "You might as well save yourself the trouble. Stop playing these pathetic games. Your little act does nothing for me."
As he spoke, he reached out and brutally pressed one of the needles deeper, leaving only a small portion visible above her skin.
The color drained from Yun An'an's face. In a panic, she scrambled to pull out all the remaining needles, one by one. By the time she was done, her lips were bloodless.
Even so, her right shoulder began to swell and turn a furious red. A thousand tiny needles of pain pricked beneath her skin, making her clench the bedsheets in her fist.
Pain…
Huo Sihan looked down at the angry, swollen patch on her delicate shoulder, a glacial coldness passing through his eyes.
Then he released her wrist, pulled a bank card from his wallet, and flung it in her face. His voice was ice. "There's twenty million dollars on this card."
"Name your price. Anything, as long as you can convince Grandpa to agree to the divorce."
The edge of the card scraped against Yun An'an's cheek, leaving a faint, stinging red line.
She fought back the pain in her shoulder and pulled her bathrobe tight. Her heart felt as though it were being squeezed by a giant hand, making it hard to breathe, but she dared not let any of her turmoil show.
If she did, he would only think she was putting on an act.
Yun An'an stared at the cold piece of plastic on the bed and let out a self-deprecating laugh. The Yun family had used her grandfather's shares to buy her place in this marriage, forcing her to wed Huo Sihan instead of Yun Xinyue.
And now, Huo Sihan was using twenty million dollars to buy her out of it.
She really was nothing more than a piece of merchandise, to be bought and sold at will.
