He glanced at me, his eyes dropping as a smile touched his lips. "Worried about me?"
Hardly.
"I'm in the car too," I retorted. "And I'm not the only one. It'd be two for the price of one."
He looked down, a hint of resignation in his eyes. His grip on my hand tightened. "Relax. Even if I were to die, I would still protect you and our child."
